Fall is here! Global Design Project #104

9 / 15 / 179 / 15 / 17

I love the Global Design Project! So much inspiration to create something on your own. This week we are CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit or Copy and Share Everything) a card by Allison Okamitsu. It is so cute!

We had some really nice cooler weather last week here in North Texas and it’s got me in the fall mood.  Of course today it’s like 94 but it was nice while it lasted.  I used a new technique on this card that gives it a stained glass look.  I used the leave from Colorful Seasons stamp set, heat Embossed on vellum, turned it over and colored in with Stampin’ Up Markers.  The marker colors I used are Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.  I think it’s beautiful.

I CASEd the background by embossing several gold leaves on the card base.  Then I CASEd the image and sentiment by making it the focal point of the card and putting it on a shaped  frame.   The last thing I CASEd is the little bow like she did off to the side.  🙂  Enjoy and create something today!

Here are the supplies I used:

Embossing Paste

8 / 23 / 178 / 24 / 17

In the new Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog there is a new product called Embossing Paste.

I wasn’t sure about it at first but now I love it!  It’s a great way to add some texture to your card and it’s easy to work with.  You can use the re inkers to add color to the paste or you can use it like it comes.

At Home With You-#GDP101

8 / 23 / 178 / 23 / 17

I’m so excited! This is my first time entering the Global Design Project Challenge.

This week’s GDP challenge is a color challenge using these three beautiful colors: Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Flirty Flamingo.

I have fallen in love with the At Home With You Stamp set and Framelits from the new Annual Catalog. So I knew I wanted to use that set for the challenge!  Here’s my card #GDP101:

The set I used is offered as a bundle:

You can use this set for so many different occasions!

Here’s the ingredients:  Night of Navy card base, Glimmer paper, Bermuda Bay Paper, aqua painter in Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzaz Inks.  Bermuda Bay chevron ribbon.

I watercolored the glimmer paper with Flirty Flamingo Ink.  I love using glimmer paper with my aqua painters.  It works beautifully and it’s perfect if you don’t want the texture of watercolor paper.  I also used glimmer paper with aqua painters with all the details.

Hope this has inspired you to enter a challenge.  Pop over to Global Design Project and check out some more projects.

Coffee Break Teacher’s Gift!

8 / 22 / 178 / 22 / 17

Yay! School has started for most of us! I wanted to share the teacher gifts I made for the first day of school.

Actually me and my daughter worked on them together.  The crate included some coffee candy and a cute little card saying she was looking forward to the school year! Of course, in the rush to get out the door, I forgot to take a good pic of them all but got this one right before drop-off. Isn’t it cute! Planning on giving some little treats like this throughout the year to her teachers. 🙂

I used the Woodcrate thinlet to make the little crate and then used items from the Coffee Break Suite for the rest.

Enjoy!

A Little Wild Stamp Set

8 / 9 / 17

As school approaches things are getting a little wild!  I see so many Facebook posts from my friends, who have preschool/elementary aged children, that school can’t come soon enough!  I remember those days but oh how I miss them also.  🙂

The A Little Wild stamp set reminds me of when my kids were little.  It’s a perfect stamp set for a children’s card, a baby shower card or a card for a friend who likes animals and I love that with the bundle you can make tags too!

These card ideas were not my own but came from Pinterest.  On two of the cards,  I used tulle fabric for the background so you can see through the square and see the back of the animal when you open the card.  I used tombow liquid glue to make sure that tulle stayed in place!

The next card is too cute!  I used Bermuda Bay for the colored card stock and the ribbon.  I used blender pens and ink to color in the bear.  The glimmer paper was created with a piece of watercolor paper and Wink of Stella!

The next card uses Wood Grain Texture Paper for the background on a Early Expresso card base.  I looked up a tutorial on a gate fold card to create it.  The polka dot paper was created with a pencil eraser and Chocolate Chip Ink.  The lion was colored using Blender pen and Pumpkin Pie Ink and Crushed Curry Ink.  I love how the inside turned out!  I have a friend that has a Cricut Air that can print onto yardstick.  She used it to create the Happy Birthday sentiment.

On the last card, I used the branch from Colorful seasons stamp set, to hang my beehive from.  And the sentiment is also from Colorful Seasons.

Hope you enjoyed the inspiration for today!  Praying for all the moms out there who are waiting to send their “wild ones” off to school!

Crafting Weekend

8 / 3 / 178 / 3 / 17

I had a great time this past weekend crafting with friends. We had so much fun and laughed more than I’ve laughed in a long time!
And if you are wondering if I got anything done? Yes, even with all the talking and laughter I completed lots of cards! 🙂

I used new stuff from the Annual Catalog and made lots of cards!

Most of my ideas came from Pinterest. Enjoy the inspiration!

This Little Piggy

7 / 24 / 17

I love all animals but usually don’t pay much attention to the animal stamp sets.  I usually gravitate to the flowers and sentiment sets.  But I love the new This Little Piggy Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  So Cute!  There are a ton of ideas on Pinterest using this set.  All of these cards came directly from there.  Here’s a look at the stamp set:

Already makes you smile, right?  Ok here are the cards I made with it so far.

On this card I used sponge daubers to make the oval and color the pig.  It was a fast way to add color and since I was cutting out I didn’t have to stay in the lines.  Paper is from Whole Lot of Lovely DSP and piece of Tranquil Tide and Pool Party Card stock.  The base of the card uses Soft Suede Card Stock.  Here’s the inside:

Simple sentiment but so cute.  Probably could have added a cloud or two inside to dress it up.

Next card is using the Delightful Daisy DSP on a Daffodil Delight Card base.  I used blender pens to color in everything.

Next card uses some In-Color DSP and Powder Pink Card Stock.  Love the sentiment on this one! 🙂

Last card uses one of my favorite color combinations from the new catalog; Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration!  Remember during the Month of July is Bonus Days!  For every $50 you spend you get a $5 off coupon to use in August.  Use hostess code:  KU3YS6DC when placing an order.

Christmas in July with the Be Merry Suite!

7 / 17 / 17

We had a great time on Saturday at Christmas in July Stamp-a-Stack!  We used the Be Merry Suite from the Annual Catalog and created 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each).  We enjoyed Christmas cookies, Christmas music and two of my friends brought a casserole and salad for lunch.  I love these ladies and it was so much fun creating with them!

I made a favor for each of them using the Wood crate Thinlets, Mini Wreaths, and the tree stamp from the Merry Mistletoe Stamp Set.  It turned out so cute!

I took inspiration from the catalog for my cards.  I used Be Merry Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler Ink and Card stock, Whisper White Card stock, and Old Olive Ink.

This card features the Be Merry DSP, Gold Glimmer Paper, Cherry Cobbler Card Stock cut with the Layering Square Framlits and Stitched Framlits.

The next card was inspired by the catalog.  The catalog had a very similar card  and I just changed it up a bit.

The last two cards were found on pinterest.  I changed them just a little.

Enjoy and I hope you find time to create today!
