Thoughts and Prayers

7 / 14 / 177 / 7 / 17

I wanted to show two more cards today using the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. These cards are very simple and basically the same card with just a sentiment and paper change. I used the Butterflies Thinlets on both of them.

I used Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper on both cards. The largest square from Stitched Framlits,  Whisper White Card stock for the card base,  Pool Party Card Stock for one butterfly and Calypso Coral Card Stock for the other butter fly.

I used the Get Well sentiment on one and Praying for you on one.  If you look closely you can see a bit of glimmer on the butterflies.  I used Wink of Stella on both.

Enjoy today and create something!

Sympathy

7 / 12 / 177 / 7 / 17

We all need sympathy cards and get well cards. A great stamp set for this is Thoughts & Prayers. Sometimes during difficult times, it’s hard to know the right words to say and this set helps with that so much. It has sentiments for the outside AND the inside. So over the next couple of days I’ll be showing you some simple sympathy and get well cards to make using this set.

These cards were inspired by pinterest (my favorite resource).  My first card only uses the sentiments and Designer Series Paper and of course ribbon.

I used Whisper White Card Base and a Whisper White mat.  I used a piece of Designer Series Paper from Delightful Daisy.  Stamped the sentiment in Basic Black Ink.  Added a bow using Peekaboo Peach Striped Cross Grain ribbon.  Easy peesy!

Enjoy today and create something!

Just for You Watercolor Words

7 / 11 / 177 / 7 / 17

Today, I want to show you my last card inspiration using WaterColor Words.  I cased it from pinterest.   Now this card took a bit of time but I love the look and the colors!

There are so many pieces so let me list the supplies:

Cardbase:  Temping Turquoise Card Stock, Card Stock for Flowers is Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, and Pear Pizzaz,  White embossing Powder, Basic Black Baker’s Twine, Basic Black Card Stock and Ink, Rhinestones, Layered Leaves Texture Folder and Lots of Labels Framelits.

The flowers and leaves are heat embossed using white embossing powder then I cut them out (a little time consuming).  The card base, I ran thru the BigShot with the Layered Leaves Texture Folder.  I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut out paper for the sentiment.  The Rhinestones I colored with a black sharpie (yes you can do that!).

Hope you enjoyed this card and I hope I’ve inspired you to purchase the WaterColor Words Stamp set.

Happy Birthday and Watercolor Wonder

7 / 9 / 177 / 7 / 17

Happy Birthday cards are my most requested cards, whether I’m making them for someone to purchase or someone wants me to teach them how to make one.  So I wanted to show you a super quick card using WaterColor Words.

There are a couple of things make this set pop without too much work.  First is the Designer Series Paper.  This Paper is Delightful Daisy and it’s double sided and has the cutest images.  I really didn’t even measure these, I just guesstimated and adhered them on a mat base of Whisper White measure 5 1/4″ x 4″.  The next pop is the ribbon.  If you’ve followed me long, you know I love ribbon!  This is double stitched Daffodil Delight Ribbon.  Whenever I use ribbon, I almost always use a mat piece and after attached ribbon will adhere the mat to the base.  This is to cover up the back where the ribbon is.  (hope that makes sense.)  I used Lot of Labels framelits for the sentiment.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.

Enjoy and create something today!

Watercolor Words and Color

7 / 7 / 17

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We enjoyed a day with family and friends! Good food, good conversation, and great people. Besides the heat, I really love the lazy days of summer.

I’ve had plenty of time to play with some of my less used stamp sets. Watercolor Words is one of those sets that I don’t see used often but I love it’s simplicity and how easy it is to use to make a quick card!

I looked at pinterest for inspiration and found a few ideas.   Over the next few days I’ll share some of my cards using this set.

This card uses Crumb Cake as it’s base.  The mat is cut from the same Crumb Cake paper and I’ve heat embossed white hearts on the bottom half.  I used layering circles in Berry Burst Paper and Stitched Framelits for the sentiment.  I used a Blender Pen and colored in the heart using Berry Burst Ink.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Ink.  I tied a Berry Burst Ribbon around the mat and then adhered it to the base.  I used Wink of Stella and flicked little droplets onto the finished card to add some shine.  I love how it turned out!   Enjoy today and create something!

Do Something Creative Everyday!

6 / 20 / 17

There is a brand new stamp set in the New Stampin’ Up Catalog that speaks to my soul! The best sentiment in it is “Do Something Creative Everyday”! I think we were all designed to create whether it’s with words or our hands. Whether it’s writing code on a computer or planning a playdate with moms and their kids; we all create something everyday! That creativity is what makes and keeps life beautiful. Here is the stamp set Crafting Forever:

Lots of fun creative ideas on pinterest with this set. This card was cased from a fellow demonstrator, Yvonne Vanbruggen. She did a wonderful job on her card. The only thing I changed was instead of sequins, I used splashes of Wink of Stella. This card showcases all the new In Colors that just came out in the little strips of paper: Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Tranquil Tide. Love it!

Oh So Eclectic

6 / 17 / 176 / 15 / 17

Summer is here and in full swing!  Which means in Texas we are hot, humid, and sticky.  Good time to stay in and make cards and try not to think about my beautiful flowers sweltering in the heat.  🙂

Love this new stamp set with all the flower options and the cute sentiments.

Lots of options available with this bundle!  I used some new In-Colors:  Berry Burst Ink and Paper, Lemon Lime Twist Ink and Paper, Powder Pink Ink, and Soft Sky Ink.  Love how it turned out!  I cased (copy and share everything) this card from Jari at Card-iology!

Here’s the ingredients:  Berry Burst card stock and ink, Lemon Lime Twist card stock and ink, Soft Sky Ink, Powder Pink Ink, Whisper White card stock, linen thread.

Enjoy and create today!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous!

6 / 15 / 176 / 15 / 17

My family doesn’t have a lot of birthdays in the summer.  We are winter or spring babies but my older sister has the lone birthday during summer.  When I saw this set, I knew I wanted to use it for her birthday card!  This is a beautiful set with some good sentiments as well!

My card was inspired by ideas from pinterest (as usual).  I used the new Pretty Label Punch to punch out the sentiment.  I love this punch, it’s a must have.

I also used the new mini chevron ribbon in Old Olive.  So cute and easy to tie a bow with.

Here’s the ingredients:

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp set, whisper white card stock, Daisy Delight Designer Series Paper, Pretty Label Punch, So Saffron Ink, Calypso Coral Ink, Old Olive Mini-Chevron Ribbon.

Enjoy!  And find time to create today!

Summer Sampler

6 / 12 / 176 / 13 / 17

I love summer!  Not so much the heat but I love the lazy days of summer where the schedule is more open, days are longer, and I see my kids a little more.  🙂

That’s the feeling I wanted to create with the summer sampler.  I decided to make it work for July 4th too because that’s a big summer holiday but also wanted to have a decor piece that I could leave up the whole summer!  I think this one fits that perfectly.

I’m offering this as a class on Friday, June 23rd!  Yay!  Register Here!
